Our History

Total asphalt was started in 1993 In Kalgoorlie Boulder. The business was started with a small ride on broom a Ute and trailer at this stage we were known as Minnie sweeper hire. With some local contractors looking for asphalt repair work we followed this direction.  Later in the first year we pretested a Flacon unit and re branded ourselves as Total Asphalt. This then gave the Goldfields Esperance area a full-time asphalt-based business in the goldfields.  We then struck up relationships with the local shire, water corp and local contractor. In December of 1996 Total asphalt acquired our first Asphalt paver. This enabled us to grow our business in and around the goldfields Esperance region. In 2013, Total Asphalt committed to building a small mobile asphalt plant, this is our QLB 40 which was a fixed plant turned in a mobile a plant so we could service our growing customer base.

Over the past 10 years Total Asphalt, with the support of our customers and staff has been able to expand asphalt supply demands. We now have a new DM 90 fixed plant fully commissioned and producing daily on demand.

Our services consisted of

• Ex bin Asphalt/ cold mix
• Supply and lay of asphalt.
• Supply and spray emulsion and Hot bitumen
• Small profiling works.
• Crack patching.

Personnel

Terry Hosking is the Owner/Director of Total Asphalt. Terry started the business twenty five years ago with him being the sole owner operator. Since then Terry has grown the business to where he now employs between 15-20 staff and has access to 30 pieces of equipment that supports the business.

Total Asphalt has recently increased their management numbers to include a General Manager, who oversees the commercial management of the business. This ensures that the business is focussed on future development and opportunities going forward.

Other staff consists of an Operations Manager, Office Administrator, Crew Supervisor and a team qualified and competent Tradesmen and Operators.

Community

Total Asphalt is also active within the communities and is a current member of the Kalgoorlie-Boulder and Esperance Chamber of Commerce and Industry which provides the company with a broad networking base for future regional planning information and development opportunities.
